The Nurse Manager, Pharmacy Home Infusion manages specific administrative functions, (and nursing functions) related to the operations of Home Infusion. This includes but is not limited to ongoing clinical workflow analysis, working toward best practice principles/guidelines, and participation in change management processes. The manager is responsible for home health agency functions as it relates to home infusion nursing.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Compiles/analyzes data, prepares and presents statistical information on department performance, productivity, activity, budget to administration. Uses total quality management methods to improve performance and processes
  • Ensures the development and delivery of nursing education to staff
  • Evaluates performance and recommends promotions and/or disciplinary actions
  • Helps establish/implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems for Home Infusion Services
  • Participates in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices
  • Participates in the development and implementation of long-range plans and budgets; monitors and controls home infusion expenditure within budget
  • Resolves problems in home infusion services and ensures compliance with regulations and standards
  • Selects, trains/orients, and supervises departmental personnel. Responsible for work assignment and daily operations and patient care. Directs and supervises nursing services in accordance with governmental and other regulatory standards.
  • Serves as liaison between home infusion and external agencies
  • Works with healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and services are provided, including nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of patients' health and wellness; suggests solutions to patient care problems
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 2 or more years nursing management experience
  • 5 or more years professional nursing experience 


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree
  • Master Degree Nursing
  • Experience in home health/infusion management

Required Licensure and Certification

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)
